Saturday Surf
Harvey and I again in our usual spot - Reef Point. Surf was just about right - sometimes a big set came through but that didn't happen often. The
water temp dropped based on the bareleg-o-meter, probably due to the good stirring the ocean received from last week's large south swell. Used a
surfworm, Krabby Patty, and surf perch Clouser Darter at various times. About 3.5 hours of effort resulted in about 6-8 fish to hand, a few LDRs, and
a few too many hits and misses. It felt like slow catching, but I think that's because the fish came in bunches with long dry periods between. The
BSP were all mid-size models, but I did pick up a nice fat corbina. I thought it went well with the fat fisherman. Too matchy-matchy?
Strip, strip, pause ..... Kevin

Post Script
Harvey called Sunday morning and wanted a repeat. Really?! Yeah, I didn't get much done around the house this weekend. Back to Reef Point. Surf
had dropped, a million sand crabs in the beach, everything else seemed the same to me. I thought it was going to be "bean" time for sure. Saw some
beans, kicked a few in the shallows. Another 3 hour session, walked up and down the beach a 1/2 dozen times, and one mid-size BSP to show for the
effort, right at the end of the day before walking up to the parking lot. Harvey got one fish too. What a difference a day makes. Oh well.
A swing and a (mostly) miss - Kevin
