Got an invite to fish with my old friend and calico slayer, John Whitaker out of Redondo last Monday, this is a late post. We found some real quality fish in the South Bay on sinking lines and large deceiver style flies. Water temps were in the 64 degree range, water off color and lots of grumpy bass willing to eat the fly. When is the summer going to start?

Al,
I have dreams of fish like those. I hope the marinara sauce wasn't used on one of those fish. Beautiful, beautiful fish.

Just goes to show ya what a v6 smaller outboard on a smaller skiff will get ya. Some smiles and hogs, if the day and you are right.
Better than a pissed off wife.

Great job on some hog Calicos.

How long were the flies and what patterns/colors?
